We focused on improving user onboarding with custom passwordless login functions to enhance security. Furthermore, our team tackled the challenge of designing a dynamic form that accurately calculates scores while remaining simple and effective for users on any device, demonstrating our commitment to responsive design.
EMBR Technology crafted a modern, responsive interface that adapts flawlessly across devices, paired with a passwordless login system. This innovative approach uses secure, temporary codes to simplify access and bolster security. Moreover, we developed an ephemeral form that operates client-side using jQuery, ensuring that data does not persist after a page refresh. This method advances both privacy and security, making the website accessible and secure for all users.
Smithers Pride Society began with an event. As the need for more queer visibility, support and celebration had been building in Smithers throughout the years, once we had a Pride Day, that made it clear we needed to organize into a formal society. In May of 2017, the Gender-Sexuality Alliance at Smithers Secondary School hosted a Pride celebration that attracted not only students, but town citizens as well. By next year 2018, a connected and expanding group of Smithereens coordinated a Main St. Pride Celebration as well. After this event, the gears started turning for the process to create the Smithers Pride Society, which was incorporated under the Societies act on June 21, 2019.
The purpose of the Society is to initiate, create, sponsor and develop educational and cultural activities and events, in a non-profit and charitable basis, to promote the development and visibility of, and in pride in the two-spirited, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and greater 2SLBGTQ+ communities of Smithers, BC Canada
